Midula is inspired by the Pop Art movement specifically by the colour, lines, and graphic forms used by Roy Litchtenstein and Patrick Caulfield. Inspired by their works, Midula embraces a philosophy of using the simple black outline to create a frame before filling in the blanks with bold, bright colours. Midula plays with contrasting colours to draw the viewers eye to the focal point of the piece in the same way others would use negative space. The end result is bold, and simple stand out imagery.
