Created in March 2019 as a piece of graffiti art on the walls of Leake Street, London (spray paint.)
As my voice has become stronger and I've become freer with my emotions and my feelings, I've switched to using spray painting and paint as a means of expression which I've discovered allows me to bring my art to life. Spray paint and paint has become my current medium of choice as I look to create larger artworks.
Based on my ET Phone Home drawing, I wanted to see how the drawing would translate on a larger scale using spray paint as the medium. The original ET Phone Home is based on an A6 inked doodle from my earlier Journal series from 2013. In 2013 I started to draw. I would grab a pen and a small notebook, and sit down for hours on end and disappear down a rabbit hole. It was the perfect antidote to the structured, and regimented life I was leading. Line drawing with precision, repeating patterns and shapes, in a state of subconscious flow started my love affair with art. I did the ET doodle on a train. I was really content with life and had found a way to really be able to express myself. With this piece of artwork I explore the idea of self, and reflection of self living in a world which I sometimes feels at odds with.
