Created March 2019 as a piece of graffiti art on the walls of Leake Street, London (spray paint.)
As my voice has become stronger and I've become freer with my emotions and my feelings, I've switched to using spray painting and paint as a means of expression which I've discovered allows me to bring my art to life. Spray paint and paint has become my current medium of choice as I look to create larger artworks.
A few weeks before I was really struggling to draw and I’d thought that I’d lost my ability to be creative. I didn’t know what to do, so I picked up my A5 sketch book and decided to let myself unwind and draw. there result was a drawing of what I thought looked like a fish - a fish with large lips swimming around happily in her own world, oblivious to the outside world just swimming in a state of zen.
With all of my hand drawn pieces I love to explore how the pieces translate on to a larger broader scale. What I’ve discovered is that I actually don’t want to replicate the exact same piece that I’ve drawn but want to create another piece of artwork based on a different interpretation. So with this piece as I clumsily put it together, I allowed the proportions to become more disjointed specifically the lips and eyes to create rather than a fish a lady, lying back and enjoying life.
Again the choice of colour pallet is important to me, and with this piece I restricted my colour choice to pink, beige, red, white complimented by a black outline and a hint of an accent blue.
This piece was created at the same time as the Letter E and Waiting 4 God.
