Created in 2018, 2018 was a year where I became more confident in creating bigger and bolder art pieces. I went back to my roots namely Litchtenstein and Patrick Caulfield and wanted to create cleaner, simpler art pieces under the Pop Art umbrella. I also started experimenting with the use of words more fully as pieces of stand alone art. The power and beauty of words I use in my personal affirmation and manifestation practise, so this was a great opportunity for me to bring out the positive beauty and message of the word through my art.
Growing up I loved watching the BBC, and I was watching a box set at the time and thought why not do a piece around the letters BBC, and so I did.
This is a piece created from having fun. I played around with the font and wanted to see what it would look like if I distorted the outlines around some of the letters, so I did. Adding outline upon outline with this piece I then decided that she would look wonderful with a set of legs standing on a cloud. So this is a fun dedication to the BBC - the BEEB.
The original piece was hand drawn, and then I decided to create a graphic version which allowed me to sharpen the colour pallet further.
